The Haori (羽織) is a traditional Japanese hip- or thigh-length jacket worn over a Kimono.
Haori are can be worn and styled as a jacket/cardigan over regular clothes. They are worn open with lapels hanging straight down and ties to hold them together. Haori are usually broad fitting garments making them ideal for layering in colder months, and have mid length sleeves that are practical for everyday wear.
This textured black silk Haori is great for all occasions. It features an embroidered family crest on the back which generally means it can be regarded as a formal piece. It is longer style and also has a broader fit than most women's Haori. The fabric is firm but will also drape nicely when worn.
